Renee Kathleen Zellweger

Renee Kathleen Zellweger was born on April 25 1969 in Katy, Texas, Her mother, Kjellfrid Irene (Andreassen) is a nurse born in Norway, former and midwife. She is of Norwegian, Kven (Finnish) and Swedish descent. Emil Erich Zellweger, her father, is a Swiss-born engineer. The couple were married in the year 1963. Drew Zellweger is Renee's brother and was born February 15, 1967. When she was working at the drama group, Renee became interested in acting. She also attended an acting class at University of Texas (Austin) in Austin, and then began looking towards acting as a career. She wanted to be an actor following her graduation, however Hollywood can be hard to get into. Renee decided not to quit Texas and auditioned at Houston to be cast in roles. On the set of the sequel, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994) She made friends with Matthew McConaughey, another Hollywood rising star. He was working on an idea that Renee was intrigued by. She tried out for, and got the part in the movie Love and .45 (1994) and brought her critical acclaim that she decided to move to Los Angeles. Another role in The Whole Wide World (1996) was the next one, which eventually led to her biggest break. Cameron Crowe was busy casting his next film, Jerry Maguire (1996),starring Tom Cruise. Crowe was taking a look at actresses like Bridget Fonda and Marisa Tomei when they appeared on Zellweger's The Whole Wide World (1996). He auditioned Zellweger, and felt certain he had found his Dorothy Boyd. Renee continued her success with a few small independent films and after receiving further critical praise, she felt confident enough to return to the realm of large-budget Hollywood films. Meryl Streep starred with her in One True Thing (1998). She was also in Me, Myself & Irene (2000) alongside Jim Carrey and shortly after she started dating Jim Carrey. She played the title role in Bridget Jones's Diary (2001).
