Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara is a famous American actress and singer who are both of Irish descent. Her fiery, passionate performances she played in a variety of American films were appreciated by the green-eyed beauty with flashing hair and fiery eyes. Her beautiful and glamorous appearance was a huge hit and she was known as the "Queen of Technicolor' in Hollywood. Her roles onscreen were a reflection of her brave, strong spirit. She fought for respect and survival in an era of male dominance. She was referred to as the "tough Irish girl" and refused to compromise her standing or respect to gain the roles she earned by merit. Through her long career in the field of film she always spoke out against injustice and improper treatment towards women actors, and for this, she earned many followers. The autobiography of her, "Tis Herself", was released in 2004. It was an honest and candid account of her life, and the difficulties she encountered as she climbed the ladder to success. She was an adventurous person who didn't hesitate to attempt herself at her own tricks. She appeared as an actress in more than 60 films in the past and was a pillar of international recognition. She was remarried in 1968 to Charles F. Blair Jr. an ex-pilot brigadier and chief, who was a pioneer in transatlantic aviation. O'Hara went on to retire a few years after their marriage. But her joy was fleeting when Blair died in a tragic plane crash in the year 1978. The same year, she was also diagnosed as having uterine cancer and had to undergo an immediate operation. She recovered eventually. Her health deteriorated throughout her life and she was diagnosed with heart attacks that caused six, short term memory loss and diabetes mellitus type 2. O'Hara was 95 years older, passed away peacefully at Boise (Idaho) on 24 October , 2015.
