Don Rickles Biography

 Don Rickles, an American comedian, author and actor was born in New York. He was among the most well-respected entertainment talents. His quick wit and funny remarks accompanied by his genuine love for his audience made him an irresistible combination of amusement, fun, and laughter. Because of his ability to make insults sound funny and inoffensive he was a regular on celebrity roasts. His crude and hurtful remarks attracted attention however the person receiving them would always laugh. Although he started out as a typical comedian, with scripted jokes in his mind, he quickly realized that his impromptu remarks were better than his written material. He was loved by many among them was Frank Sinatra. In addition to being featured in numerous films and TV shows he also had two comedy albums. He received numerous prizes, like a Lifetime Achievement' award from The Comedy Awards. His style of comedy that incorporated insinuations earned him many nicknames like "The Merchant of Venom", 'The Insultan' 'Mr. Don Rickles was only able to get small TV roles after his graduation. To earn a living, he began to perform stand-up comedy and eventually developed his 'insult comedian" persona. He was a major role in Clint Eastwood's 1970 hit movie Kelly's Heroes (1970). He also made appearances in television comedies like 'The Don Rickles Show' (1972) and 'The Dean Martin Roasts' (1973). Barbara Sklar, Don Rickles's wife, was wed to him on the 14th of March, 1965. They had two kids: Mindy and Larry. Their son passed away on December 31, 2011. Bob Newhart was his best friend and he often vacationed with his wife. They were on various shows including "Newhart" as well as Don Rickles passed away from kidney disease at his Beverly Hills home on April 6, 2017.
